JACQUES DUBOIS: THE WISDOM OF THE LOOK

Synopsis:
This film tends to help us to discover a discreet and endearing personality of the world of photography which has played a major role in the development of the graphic and plastic arts through half a century.
Born in Versailles in 1912, Jacques Dubois first worked in AM Cassandre’s studio,the famous poster designer.
In 1934, his photography’s works became more and more noticeable. He exhibits with Tabard, Kertesz and Parry.
A true friendship will rise between Jacques Dubois and Robert Doisneau thanks to their participation to numerous reports. It’s in their common book ”Les Auvergnats” that we really understand their closeness. They talk about this book in the film. Jacques Dubois made many books about Versailles, l’Aubrac, Brittany, the streets.

This films shows many other testimonies from Robert Doisneau, Kawun the painter and Yvonne Dubois.
